Hāpai Hapūtanga – Pregnancy Support provides compassionate wraparound support for wāhine and whānau throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period. Our team includes nurses,Kaiwhakatere hauora / health coaches, and experienced support staff who provide holistic, practical, emotional, and non-judgemental care tailored to each woman’s unique circumstances.

We support wāhine experiencing complex life challenges, including financial stress, relationship difficulties, isolation, housing insecurity, and limited support networks. We also walk alongside women facing stress related to unexpected or challenging pregnancies, providing caring support and advocacy throughout their journey.

A key part of our mahi is supporting maternal mental and emotional wellbeing, helping māmā navigate anxiety, overwhelm, emotional distress, and adjustment to motherhood. Through our specialised Māmā me Pēpi Oranga support, we also offer support focused on attachment and bonding, providing tools and a structured programme designed to strengthen the relationship between māmā and pēpi, supporting secure attachment and healthy early connection.

In addition, we provide compassionate care for women and whānau experiencing pregnancy and baby loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, and post-termination grief, offering support through what can be an incredibly difficult and vulnerable time. While we are not trained counsellors ourselves, we will walk alongside women through their grief and can provide referrals to specialist grief support services where needed.

At Hāpai Hapūtanga – Pregnancy Support, our aim is to walk alongside women and whānau with compassion, dignity, and practical care, helping reduce isolation, strengthen support networks, and empower families during times of vulnerability and change.
