Nelson Perinatal Trauma Peer Support

Nelson Perinatal Trauma Peer Support was set up by a local mum Olivia. We are so lucky to have these mother-led groups in the region. Olivia is working hard to plan meet-ups and manage a Facebook support group.
It’s a private peer support group for those living in the Nelson Tasman area who have experienced difficulties and trauma on their journey of having children.

This includes: fertility treatment, miscarriage, baby loss, difficult pregnancy, birth trauma, difficult recovery from birth, babies needing to stay in SCBU or NICU, difficulties with feeding and baby weight gain, perinatal mental health issues, effects on deciding whether to have any more kids, and anything else related to these topics. The main aim is for people to realise they are not alone and find support from others with similar experiences.

This group welcomes those still on their journey to have a child, those who have a child/children, and those whose journeys ended without a child/children.

This is an inclusive and safe space for LGBTQIA+ parents. Any posts that break this rule will be removed.

Please note this is a peer support group - NOT a medical service. We are not giving medical advice, but sharing our own lived experience and finding healing in not being alone.
